I consider myself to be something of a musical ‘alchemist’ — I approach music as a continual ‘refining‘ or ‘purification’ of the bond between the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind, developing them to the point where, in the words of Bruce Lee: “I do not hit; it hits all by itself."

I believe strongly that music must fit the occasion — it shouldn't be overbearing, but not forgettable, either. Sometimes, the best music is no music. Melody drives everything I write. I prefer to work with small, intimate ensembles, in order to connect the listener to the music in a very personal way.

My speciality is ‘cute music’ — charming, whimsical, and heartwarming themes, a style often heard in visual novels. Much of my work combines elements from a wide range of styles, giving it a unique sound that's difficult to define by any single genre.

I have a thorough understanding of music theory (in fact, I teach it), which allows me to write very ‘focused’ music. This creates a strong impression on my listeners, where they can often relay back to me the exact picture I had in mind while composing, even without knowing the song's title.

As a guitarist of 8+ years, I also track my own electric guitars for rock, jazz, and pop music. While I couldn't be called a "shred" guitarist, my playing style is reminiscent of 80s rock and metal, influenced heavily by guitarists such as Jun Senoue (Sonic Adventure, Crush 40), Koichi Namiki (S.S.T. Band), and Tom-H@ck (K-ON!, MYTH&ROID).

Compositionally, my influences include Koji Kondo, Motoi Sakuraba, Yasunori Mitsuda, Jun Senoue, Ken Nakagawa, Kazuki Yanagawa, Hajime Hyakkoku, Ruka Kawada, and Tom-H@ck.
